BUSINESS COMMUNICATION: PROCESS AND PRODUCT, 7 is a course that teaches students how to successfully navigate the digital workplace of today and provides them with advice on how to improve their job search skills. Both the textbook and the website that goes along with it provide an introduction to the fundamentals of working in teams, communicating effectively in the workplace, learning how to be a good listener, and becoming familiar with proper business etiquette. Students are taught about and given practice in the various skills and activities that are involved in the process of writing. These skills and activities include the appropriate use of social media, the preparation of formal reports and proposals, as well as the preparation of informal business reports. In the appendices, students are provided with information on grammar, writing mechanics, and document formatting, as well as guidance on how to write documents. The authors Mary Ellen Guffey and Dana Loewy provide a wealth of ideas for writing resumes and cover letters, completing follow-up activities, and participating in interviews.
